Join us as we visit Ventura County’s historic birthplace, founded in 1782 by Father Junipero Serra as we share the seeds of Ventura County’s agriculture history.
Upon arrival guests will mingle among the flowers, ornamental palms, and bougainvillea-lined loggias as you sample locally produces libations and farm to fork sourced appetizers while meeting new friends as we take in the old world charm of this beautiful space.
For the dinner portion of the evening guests will be guided to the site of the original Mission orchard as we dine alfresco in a communal, family style under the magnificent 150 year old fig tree (the only remaining specimen from the Mission’s farming era.) Guests will have an opportunity to talk with local farmers from whose land the food derives. As with the wine and beer, the producers will offer insight and context on the consumables, forging a true link in the diners’ consciousness between the fields to and fork.
Sharing in the evening’s historic flavors the Museum of Ventura County will illuminate the Missions connection to our county’s powerful agricultural legacy.
Highlighting the evenings culinary experience Chef Shannon Rice of the historic Peirano’s Market will create a five-course menu highlighting seasonal selections harvested from the region’s celebrated farms as she perfectly pairs to perfection the wines of Four Brix winery, Rincon Brewing and Beacon Coffee
